First it was that homosexuality was acceptable, then gay marriage, then transgender body mutilation. It didn’t stop there. Now they are changing the Bible!
Video: Did you know there is a translation of the Bible called, "The Queen James". In this short video, David W. Daniels tells what has been changed and why it matters.
Today there is a deepening concern among believers about the continued advance of the homosexual agenda. It seems that every few weeks they come up with some new variation. First, it was that “anything goes between consenting adults.” Once that was legally nailed down, and the laws against sodomy and adultery were cancelled, they pushed for approval of same sex marriage. The assurance was, that once they obtained that, everything would quiet down.
But the demons behind homosexuality are not about to give it a rest. Now we have the whole transgender issue with male athletes running away with girl’s track trophies and teenage boys in dresses raping 9th-grade girls in the girl’s bathroom.
Also, witnessing to homosexuals has become somewhat more complicated as they use the new Bible translations to justify their cause. The authorized King James version is quite clear that whoredom and sodomy were an abomination to God’s best plan for mankind (Deut. 23:17). But the New American Standard is typical of the newer versions converting both terms to “cult prostitute.” Homosexual activists say: “See, we are not cult prostitutes, so we are okay.”
They conveniently change the subject, ignoring God’s basic message that their behavior is an abomination. This same Bible version makes similar changes in 1 Kings 14:24, 1 Kings 15:12, and 2 Kings 23:7. In addition, the 2nd half of Mark 6:11, shown below, is also missing:
“Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.”
Without that verse, they then try to claim that Jesus did not speak against homosexual behavior. Another place where they like to change the subject is Ezekiel 16:49:
“Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had arrogance, abundant food and careless ease, but she did not help the poor and needy.”
The translation here is almost the same as the King James, however their interpretation of it is again used to change the subject. They say: “See, the inhabitants of Sodom were inhospitable and failed to help the poor and needy. They were not destroyed because of their sexual practices.”
Chick Publications publishes tracts detailing God’s view of homosexuality, but when someone inquires about witnessing to homosexuals, it is a little more complex than that. In order to get anyone to agree that homosexuality is wrong, they need to first agree that there is a God who has specified guidelines for our good.
Some of those laws present God’s ideal plan for sexual relations only within a marriage covenant between a man and woman. Until they come to this insight, their view of same-sex relations will be based on a humanist worldview. That is the reason that most of our gospel tracts are written to the issue of man’s relationship to his Creator.
Until that is settled, little can be done from there in the way of dealing with every kind of sin, including homosexuality. Of course tracts like THIS WAS YOUR LIFE and LOVE STORY are favorites in this category.
However if a person has come to agree that he is a sinner, transgressing God’s laws, and has asked forgiveness for his sin, then we have a few tracts that deal with homosexual sin.
