Advertisers spend their big bucks on the Olympics because they know it is their best opportunity to get in front of the whole world. And Satan is big into advertising. But this year his parody of the Last Supper may have blown up in his face.

Olympics organizers tried to sidestep the issue with a tepid apology. And the “artists” who designed the display said that it was just a skit of a Pagan feast with no connection to the Bible or Christianity. Fortunately, many refused to accept such lying excuses. Some even pulled their advertising from the Olympics.

During the games, Satan went on to sow more confusion about God's Creation. How he rejoiced in his lie against God's original gender design when he watched the boxer girl take that hard punch from her masculine opponent and immediately realized she was outmatched. There are many other examples of the tragedies that Satan’s lies have created.

We live in the days of the “wars and rumors of wars” that Jesus predicted. Israel is fighting an opponent motivated by the lie that Mohammed approves of killing anyone who will not bow to Allah. Conflicts elsewhere can easily be traced to a lie or lies behind some deceptive “ideology.”

More and more countries are believing the lie that Karl Marx taught a better “gospel” than Jesus. Satan must be delighted over the poverty and despair of the billions of people confused by this false promise.

The pope is busy spreading the lie that the only way to world peace is for all religions to compromise until a global religion can be cobbled together. Few world leaders are able to resist the lie that happiness and fulfillment is obtained by power and wealth.

Closer to home, suicide and homelessness confounds the professionals who believe the lie that the epidemic of despair is somehow caused by a mysterious “mental illness.” In the rare society where God is honored by repentance and obedience, fewer people are infected by these “illnesses.”

The preposterous lie that gender is fluid has deceived so many who refuse to believe the obvious truth that God did make them male and female. We are astounded at these lies that have the power to cause respected surgeons to mutilate the bodies of children.

When Adam and Eve acted on the serpent’s lies, God's only choice was to set an endpoint to our lives. Death was declared upon all mankind as the great equalizer. But Satan cannot leave this one alone, either. He works very hard to kill people early before they have a chance to hear the gospel.

He also presents man with infinite levels of trivia to distract him from death’s certainty. Or he trots out the lie that there really is no judgment, only oblivion beyond the grave.

For the unbeliever, this perfect storm of lies creates such confusion that it fuels the awful statistics of suicide and homelessness. But the believer is protected by his shield of faith in the Truth. Unfortunately, we who hold that Truth have not done a very good job telling others about it.

Today's social turmoil is beginning to get people's attention. Soul winners have a unique opportunity to stand strong and proclaim that true peace can only be found in Jesus. As Bible believers we have the only cure for today’s multiple stressors.

There is no other lasting remedy for the mental and social “diseases” caused by Satan’s lies. We have the remedy because we have the Truth. All we need is more boldness to go tell as many people as we can.
