Anti-Semitic Events Up 235 Percent

“Don’t help them fight back! Let them die quietly, like under Hitler!”
Less than a month after Oct 7 attack on Israel, demonstration in Washington DC demands aid to Israel be stopped.

In the last year the hatred for God's people, Israel, has marched out into the streets. The world was first shocked last October by the Hamas brutality against the Israeli communities. But when Israel punched back hard, much of the world's media cried “no fair!”

This brought out a new dimension of hatred that we had thought was tamped down. Jewish Press reports an increase in incidents of 235 percent in 2023 over the previous year.

The world had thought that they could taste the imagined glories of godless socialism without its Nazi flavor. They declared that God was dead, but they forgot to execute Satan in the process.

They managed to get people to forget about the Bible, which is the only source of the big picture of the evil that Israel faces. And the father of that evil has certainly been working overtime in the Anti-Semitism department.

Social Media Helped Stir Violence

A factor in the explosion of hatred against the Jews has been the social media platforms. The Jewish Press reports a 1200% increase in social media posts advocating violence against Jews, Israelis, and Zionists. Never before was it possible for a relatively few bad people to spread their venom so widely, so quickly. And the rudderless multitudes who have been taught that there is no God (or about one of Satan’s counterfeit gods) are gullible recipients.

The Bible describes a time when the entire world will be against God's chosen people. As Israel looks beyond their immediate encirclement by today’s enemies, friends are few.

A Stumbling Block to Socialism

The huge section of the world that has fallen for socialism sees Israel as a major stumbling block to their dream of a one-world government. And wherever Mohammed casts a shadow, Jews enter at their peril. The other major religions vary in their attitude. Most Hindu countries are geographically distant from Israel with little interaction.

Most branches of Catholicism hold negative views of Israel, centered around “replacement theology,” the teaching that the “church” has “replaced” the Israelites as God’s covenant people. While posing as the true church, Catholicism, at heart, is a counterfeit claiming to supersede the authority of the Bible, so they can ignore God’s promise that He will bless those who bless Israel.

Catholicism showed its true colors during the dark ages when it torched Christians at the stake. Their offense centered around the pagan-sourced wafer-god, called the Eucharist. The pope demanded that Jews and Christians ignore what their eyes told them that it was just a wheat wafer and agree that it was, miraculously, the real “body, blood, and divinity” of Jesus. If they refused, they wre declared a heretic, and the fire was lit.

No Love From the Popes

The popes’ Jesuits are not only bent on bringing everybody back to “mother church” but have been historically associated with Nazis and others who have tried to eliminate the “Jewish problem.” The history of the popes does not demonstrate any kind of true love for the Jewish people.

To the Jews that know their history, and most of them do, the only difference today is that this is the first time since 70 AD that the Jews have had a homeland. Even though they were under Roman domination prior to 70 AD, they were given a certain amount of autonomy.

70 AD a Turning Point

But from 70 AD until 1948 they have been at the mercy of most of history’s bad guys. In the latter days of the Roman Empire, persecution became fierce until Emperor Constantine provided some relief.

But as soon as the counterfeit church under the popes gained civil political power, the Jews were again fair game. The dark ages were a tumult of denied rights, genocidal violence and pogroms. False accusations led to expulsions from cities and countries. If allowed to stay, they were confined to ghettos sealed off from the populace.

By adhering to the Old Testament laws, they were healthy and thus more industrious which brought envy that helped to drive the persecution.

Tumultuous History

But the Jews have a tumultuous history with periods of relative peace and prosperity punctuated by intense persecution and hardship. That, plus the spasms of agony of the 20th century, hardened their motto: “never again!”

But their continued rejection of their Messiah blunts the blessing that God wishes to pour out upon them. However, if we read prophecy correctly, the nations that are currently poised to take Israel as a spoil may soon come face to face with the Creator of the universe, Himself.

The United States has a mixed history of their relationship to the Jews. A desperate shipload seeking asylum in the U.S. during World War II was turned back to the ovens of the Holocaust. Historian John McTernan describes numerous other betrayals that led to serious consequences for the nation.

Dangerous Ambivalence

We have seen the attitude of the current US administration shift from our traditional support for the Jewish nation to one of ambivalence. Deuteronomy chapter 32 describes God as a mother eagle with wings of protection spread over the tribe of Jacob. When disturbed, that eagle is a fierce bird.

As Bible believers, it behooves us to heed the instruction to pray for the peace of Jerusalem for our peace is tied to theirs through God's promise of blessing in Genesis 12:3.

Jack Chick wrote a tract, called Somebody Angry? and a full-color comic called Unthinkable, based on McTernan’s detailing of the disasters in America that happened when the U.S. and other Western nations offended God’s people, Israel.

You can read the tract and purchase it and McTernan’s book on the Chick website.
