Dear Ones in Christ,
The day the stock market dropped 700 points, the financial world went into a panic. As I was watching the evening news, the newscaster asked the viewing audience two questions. 1. Are you frightened? 2. Are you terrified? The audience was to vote by sending a text message to the station. The conclusion? 80% voted for number 2. They were terrified!
What does that have to do with the gospel? When there is fear and loss of security, people begin to think and call upon God for help. This was always the case with Israel. In the Old Testament, during prosperity they soon fell into pride and turned from the Lord. God had to send enemy armies to punish them before they would repent.
At times like this, when people are shaky, hearts become open to the gospel. During the great depression a large number came to the Lord through old fashioned gospel preaching and tracts.
We have never changed or compromised our message in 45 years. It`s the only message that saves souls. We hear from people all the time, testifying how Chick tracts helped them understand the Gospel and accept Christ as Saviour. They are so grateful for you, because you cared enough to give them that gospel tract. Keep doing what you`re doing. It`s working!
Remember, beloved, Chick tracts get read.
Your brother in Christ,
Jack T. Chick, President
