Two demons are loose in the world today vying for world dominion.

One is Islam, driven by a command from their god to impose Allah’s Sharia bondage worldwide.

The other is political socialism originally inspired by Karl Marx and adopted by the part of the world who decided to deny their Creator and make science their deity. We call it “socialism” if we wish to be kind or “communism” if we admit its brutality.

In Europe today these two demons are executing a slow-motion partnership. They appear to be enemies, but both have the same goal: kill as many as possible and destroy the creation.

When the Creator and His Bible were shoved aside, they forgot His verdict that the heart of man is “deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked.” (See Jer. 17:9) They fully embraced the lie of science that man is basically good, all he needs is the right environment.

When the European nations gathered together to create their fancied utopia, things went along swimmingly for a while. Embedded in their collectivistic dream was the idea that they could embrace all races and ideologies, baptize them in the right environment and peace would reign.

They were about to learn that when you throw God out the window the devil comes through the door. When Islam found the door wide open, they did not ignore the invitation.

For several decades, Europe’s borders have been left porous. They chose to ignore who was coming in until Islam’s Jihadist troopers began to pull out the knives—literally. Israeli National News reports that “in the first seven days of September, German police intervened in more than 100 crimes involving a knife.” They report that almost all of the instances involve “Islamist” individuals.

So, why knives? First of all, it is one of the easiest weapons to obtain and conceal. Every kitchen has several. Europe has basically eliminated our Second Amendment privilege of gun ownership.

Knives have become a very convenient weapon to carry out Islam’s brutal ideological mandates.

Anyone who doubts Islam’s brutality or motivation need only to review the atrocities committed on October 7 in Israel. Their search for the most convenient weapon illustrates the determination of “Islamists” to carry out the dictates of their religion.

God observed that “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people” (Proverbs 14:34). We are seeing the tragic result of Europe turning a blind eye to the spiritual.

Europeans tend to see this as a war against their way of life not realizing that the demon behind their socialist ideology is simply pairing up with the other demon behind radical Islam. And there are few Bible-believers left on that continent to explain to them their blindness.

But another type of devil has come along to complicate the picture. His name tag is homosexuality, a former resident of Sodom. And, he has lots of friends. Jesus described how an emptied soul is a candidate for a disastrous refill. (See Matthew 12:45.) The same can be said of nations.

When the Western World emptied its soul of the spirit of God, the focus turned quickly to sensual pleasure. And as with all other addictions, more is never enough.

Ezekiel describes what happened to Sodom in chapter 16, verses 49-50. Prosperity led to idleness and pride. And their haughty selfishness blossomed into sexual abominations. It is the same downfall of nearly all of the prosperous nations in history.

Many voices in the church today are calling for revival. But revival is waiting for us to dismantle our wall of pride and repent of our abominations. We frequently quote the formula in 2 Chronicles 7:14. God is just waiting for us to do what it says.

Gospel tracts have been a significant part of past revivals by calling men to repentance. The Word of God that they carry is still just as powerful.
