According to the June 16, 1999 issue of the Roman Catholic weekly Our Sunday Visitor, "Eucharistic Adoration" —prayer and meditation before the "Blessed Sacrament"— is sweeping the country." Most Protestants (and many Roman Catholics) do not understand the significance of this statement.

This worship of a wheat wafer stems from the teaching that the communion wafer, when blessed by an ordained priest, becomes the actual "body, blood, soul and divinity" of Jesus. In spite of the fact that it still looks, tastes and feels like a wheat wafer, it becomes the "Real Presence" of Jesus.

Any left overs which remain after the faithful have eaten and swallowed this absurdity, are displayed in a special sunburst shaped "monstrance" or in a sacred storage box at the alter called a "tabernacle." "Eucharistic Adoration" is then performed by rotating one-hour shifts of parishioners, sometimes on a "perpetual" or round-the-clock schedule.

In 1992 Pope John Paul II established an adoration chapel in St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican. His statement at the time illustrates how far the pope's teaching is from the Bible: "The best, the surest and the most effective way of establishing peace on the face of the earth is through the great power of Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament."

Since then, hundreds of Eucharistic Adoration chapels have been established in the U.S. Chicago has some 30 Perpetual Adoration chapels. In Joliet, Illinois, 3000 people are signed up to take turns "adoring" the wafer god. "Adoration" takes place in 207 parishes in the St. Louis area.

In Lombard, Illinois, the deacon in charge of the local Eucharistic Adoration stated, "There are three pillars that hold up the roof of our faith: Belief in the real presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist, devotion to our Blessed Mother, and obedience to the Holy Father. Without all three, the roof comes crashing down."

This statement eloquently illustrates how the lowly parishioners perceive the teachings of Roman Catholicism. Not one of the three "pillars" rests on any kind of biblical foundation. The "real presence" doctrine is a perversion of one of Jesus' teaching metaphors; the "Blessed Mother" teaching takes the sweet mother of our Lord and perverts her into a pagan-style goddess who elbows aside the King of kings to become the "Queen of Heaven."

Obedience to the Holy Father is specifically forbidden by Jesus in Matthew 23 when He said to call no religious leader "father." Some day the "roof will come crashing down" when Jesus judges this harlot church. Until then, soul winners, we must rescue as many as possible by telling them the Biblical truths which are hid from them by this priestcraft system.
