The Next Step in the Sexual Revolution

Between drag queen performances at libraries, homosexual characters on TV, porno-health ed in kindergarten and internet teaser ads, our children’s innocence has nowhere to hide. Those who raised a red flag early on in the sexual revolution predicted that pedophilia was in the plans. Now, the attack on our children is relentless. Parents who try to object are stonewalled by the school officials or other bought-and-paid-for bureaucrats.

The entertainment industry has been very useful to the homosexual lobby in this regard. A recent report from a homosexual organization, GLAAD (formerly Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation), states that the percentage of homosexual characters on prime-time broadcast TV was at an all-time high of 10.2 percent. Out of 879 characters, 90 were openly homosexual. Sarah Kate Ellis, GLAAD president said, “…increased representation of LGBTQ stories and characters on television is especially critical to advance of LGBTQ acceptance.” And prime time is when parents are most likely to turn the kids over to the TV to babysit.

But the demon behind the men at Lot’s door demanding his angelic house guests is not satisfied with “acceptance.” Approval and endorsement is the goal with zero criticism or opposition. There is a world-wide campaign to normalize pedophilia. As an extension of the homosexual drive for acceptance, pedophilia is being redefined as just another sexual “orientation.” They have been hugely successful in getting same-sex attraction reclassified from a behavior to an identity they were born with. Now the same strategy is being applied to pedophilia.

San Diego State University recently showed to a classroom of students an 8-minute Vice News video “showcasing self-identified pedophiles.” One student tweeted: “This is going to be mainstreamed.”

In fact, the game has recently moved to the school playground. News stories are beginning to surface of graphic sexual content in elementary school health curriculum. Some is so suggestive that shocked parents have labeled it pornography. Because of the stonewalling of the school officials, parents are banding together to try and force the issue.

Parents must be super vigilant in reviewing their child’s government school curriculum. When objectionable content is found, like-minded parents should register loud and persistent objection with all the school officials in sight. Pastors and church leaders should be enlisted to exert community pressure. Unfortunately, local media is often hostile to attempts to bring God’s truth into the picture. Local merchants who buy advertisements will sometimes bring pressure on the editors.

However, there is a bit of good news. During the beginning of the sexual revolution in the mid-20th century, there was a move to lower or eliminate the age of consent laws. Pedophiles wished to avoid the charge of statutory rape. Historically, these laws have favored such predators with some countries setting it at 10 or under. Globally it has moved in the higher direction with the U.S. leading the way in raising the bar at least to 16 and in some states as high as 18.

All this is just another battle in the war that Satan maintains against our Creator. God’s plan for married sex is under constant attack. Historically, sexual perversion has been a global constant as one powerful nation after another has rotted from the inside.

But God’s plan does not change. He continues to commission His people to diligently preach His plan. In that sense all Bible believers are “preachers.” We are all under the Great Commission to “preach” as in Mark 16:25: “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” As Bible believers, we can either step up to that calling or sit back and “enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season.”

Satan has twisted our understanding to believing that only ordained “preachers” should preach. But “preaching” is simply presenting God’s truth to “every creature.” Dedicated ordained preachers do it well, but all other Bible believers are still obligated to the best of their ability. For some, their best is just to hand someone a gospel tract, or maybe even just secretly leave it on a toilet paper roll in a public restroom.
