Fossils Prove Pre-Flood Earth Was Ideal Environment

Creation scientists are amassing evidence that life was much different before Noah's flood. Fossils of 12-foot-tall men, pig-sized beavers, 50-foot crocodiles and foot-long cockroaches have been found. Fossilized rain forests lush with 90-foot fruit trees have been unearthed in African and Australian deserts, Colorado and Antarctica.

Most of this evidence has been ignored, or stored in back closets of museums so they will not disturb the sleep of evolutionists who refuse to give up their bankrupt biological religion.

Besides size, the biblical record speaks of very long life spans. Adam lived over 900 years. Methuselah is considered the oldest at 969. Noah came close to this. Even after the flood, Moses lived well past 100. Is this just bad counting by primitive cave men? Hardly.

Creation scientists have discovered something that makes both large size and long life reasonable. Dr. Kent Hovind, in his Creation Evangelism series of videos, describes the pre-flood vapor canopy which is believed to exist before the flood. The book of Genesis tells how God "divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament."

Hovind describes how such a water canopy of ice crystals and vapor would shield the earth from harmful solar x-rays and provide a greenhouse environment ideal for maximum plant and animal growth. There is evidence in samples of ancient amber that the atmosphere contained twice as much oxygen is it does today and that the atmospheric pressure was much greater.

This would explain how an 80-foot-long dinosaur could get enough oxygen for his huge body through nostrils no bigger than those of a horse.

This greenhouse effect would have provided nearly uniform atmospheric conditions all over the globe. Temperature variations between the equator and the poles would vary by only forty or fifty degrees.

This would explain the redwood forests found encased in ice near the south pole. Also, the palm leaves and petrified oak trees in the arctic.

The Bible indicates that there was no rain before the flood but "there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground." If there was no rain, then storms and even wind were unknown. In this ideal climate, vegetation and animal life would flourish, so much so that when the flood demolished it, great deposits of flesh and fiber were compressed and converted to huge oil reservoirs and layers of coal hundreds of feet thick.

As scientists make further discoveries that fit the model of pre-flood paradise followed by catastrophic destruction, the evolution world view gets stretched to the ludicrous.

Hovind's contention is that evolution is not science, but an alternate belief system - a religion. Surely it takes more faith to believe that animals came from rocks than it does to believe in a loving Creator Who designed them.
