Answer: The King James simply translated the Hebrew exactly. Here is the verse in its entirety: "Then the angel of the LORD went forth, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians a hundred and fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses." It is obvious from the context of chapters 36 and 37 that it was Hezekiah's men that discovered the Assyrians dead in their camp. Isaiah did not feel the need to add extra words to state the obvious, and neither did the King James translators.
